Syracuse: The INDA Classical Performances at the Greek Theatre
Until 28 June 2026, the Greek Theatre of Syracuse hosts the 61st season of the Classical Performances organised by the INDA Foundation, dedicated to the theme “Crossing Boundaries”.
The programme includes three new productions and one revival:

Taormina: Cinema, Literature and Contemporary Culture at the Ancient Theatre
The Ancient Theatre of Taormina once again becomes one of Sicily’s leading cultural venues, hosting two major international events.
Taormina Film Fest
From 10 to 14 June 2026, the Taormina Film Fest returns with five days dedicated to cinema, premieres, international guests and red-carpet events.
Now in its 72nd edition and directed by Tiziana Rocca, the festival confirms its international reputation. Over the years, it has welcomed legendary figures of world cinema, including Federico Fellini, Woody Allen, John Woo, Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese.
The Ancient Theatre serves as the spectacular setting for screenings and official events, offering one of the most unique cinema experiences in Europe.
Taobuk – Taormina International Book Festival
From 18 to 22 June 2026, Taormina hosts the sixteenth edition of Taobuk – Taormina International Book Festival, created and directed by Antonella Ferrara.
The 2026 edition revolves around the theme of “Trust” and brings together more than 200 leading voices in contemporary culture from over 30 countries.
The programme includes lectures, dialogues, exhibitions, youth initiatives and the prestigious Taobuk Gala held at the Ancient Theatre.
Among the announced guests and award recipients are Adonis, Haruki Murakami, Abdulrazak Gurnah, Dacia Maraini, Jonathan Coe and Esther Duflo.
Segesta: Theatre, Music, Dance and Stargazing
From 26 July to 30 August 2026, the Segesta Archaeological Park hosts the Segesta Teatro Festival.

Morgantina and Villa Romana del Casale: Classical Theatre in the Heart of Sicily
Central Sicily takes centre stage with EYEXEI 2026, a festival dedicated to classical theatre and live performance.
The headline event is the national premiere of Euripides’ The Trojan Women, directed by Daniele Salvo and scheduled for 9 and 10 July 2026 at the Ancient Theatre of Morgantina in Aidone.
One of the most powerful tragedies of Greek theatre, the play explores the suffering of women after war, the loss of homeland and the enduring relevance of human conflict.
The programme also includes events at the UNESCO-listed Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina, creating a cultural itinerary that combines archaeology, theatre and evening experiences.

From 3 July to 30 August 2026, the venue hosts the 70th edition of the Tindari Festival.
The programme combines classical and contemporary productions, reinforcing Tindari's role as both a place of memory and a dynamic centre for artistic innovation.
The Theatres of Stone and the 2026 Opera Festival
Throughout the summer, the Teatri di Pietra (Theatres of Stone) network once again demonstrates Sicily’s extraordinary ability to transform archaeological sites and historic monuments into living stages.
