Flamingo Way takes you to discover the salt pans of Trapani and Paceco For those who love to immerse themselves in nature and get lost in a scene away from the hustle, from the city noise and people, Trapani and Paceco Salt Pans Nature Reserve is the right place. The reserve extends over about 1000 hectares made of large white basins used to “farm” the salt; it is populated by a multitude species of birds such as avocets, elegant pink flamingos, seagulls and other varieties of migratory birds.
Being wild animals, they are very distrustful, therefore we would recommend you use binoculars for the sighting and telephoto lenses for photos. The windmills, a symbol for the Reserve, were once used to process the salt.
