A journey through traditions, stories, flavours, and the unique atmosphere of Mediterranean street food and beyond. This is Stragusto, the Festival of Street Food and Traditional Markets that lights up the splendid Piazza Mercato del Pesce in Trapani, welcoming numerous producers.
The aim of Stragusto, an initiative organized by Trapani Welcome in collaboration with Pro Loco Trapani Centro and under the patronage of the Municipality of Trapani, is to preserve and enhance the rich heritage offered by street food vendors—true artisans of taste—who pass down their culinary traditions from generation to generation.
Street food is a true cultural heritage, a symbol of community history and the evolution of habits and tastes. This is the soul of Stragusto: a celebration of diversity as a source of richness, in the perfect setting of Sicily, a land that has welcomed different peoples and cultures for centuries.
Every day from 23 to 27 July 2025, the event offers an ideal journey where taste, culture, and tradition intertwine. Among the highlights of this culinary itinerary: local Trapani specialities, Florentine dishes, Ascolane olives, Nebrodi black pig porchetta, cùscusu from Trapani, busiate to go, tuna sandwiches, and the unmissable Palermo street food.
New in this edition: international flavours from Argentina, Greece, Palestine, and Hungary. A dedicated area will be available for gluten-free food.
Also returning this year is the wine tasting, held in an exclusive location just steps away from the square: the Tramontana walls, a beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea of Trapani. Participants will enjoy tastings of several prestigious wine labels, guided by expert sommeliers.
