Scents and Ancient Flavours
The third edition of "Scents and Ancient Flavours" is back in Castellammare del Golfo, from April 17 to May 4, 2025 – one of the most anticipated spring events in western Sicily!
The town will transform into an open-air stage filled with flavour, tradition, and entertainment. The programme is constantly evolving, but here’s a sneak peek:
Street Performers and Family Shows
Every week, street artists from “Franse” will fill the streets with shows of balance, juggling and comedy:
April 17–19: Hei – balancing chairs and clowning fun
April 22–24: Clap Clap Comedy Show – juggling with everyday objects and tightrope cycling
April 25–27: Bubbles Dreams – a magical soap bubble performance
April 28–30: Giuseppe Buggea – acrobatics and laughter
May 2–4: Alex Russo – a mix of juggling and street clowning
🕐 Each show will be performed twice during the event.
Storytellers and Sicilian Folk Music
Experience Sicily’s oral traditions with storytellers and folk groups:
April 23: I Cantaturi, Sicilian folk trio (roaming)
April 26: Totò Fundaró – legends of Cola Pisci and the Swordfish
April 28: Totò and Eugenia, storyteller and minstrel (roaming)
April 30: Fundaró – tales of the Baroness of Carini and the Count’s race
May 2: Totò and Eugenia (roaming)
May 4: I Cantaturi, fixed stage with love serenades
Culture & Gastronomy
April 27 and May 2, at 6:00 PM, join Kernos Association for a historic walking tour through Castellammare’s centre.
📍 Meeting point: Church of Santa Lucia (Purgatorio), Corso Garibaldi pedestrian area.
Also: guided visits to ancient granaries with CAI.
On May 3, the same combo of culture by day and live music at night with Boo Boo Special!
